Some of You Peaked in High School..

Im a product of the generation Brat Pack. Its true..my father still cringes every time TBS airs the Breakfast Club. High School was the best time of my life. I think with all life throws at you, there should be more solstice to remembering days when you could stay home if you were really sick, there was no "corrective action" if your work wasn't done, and it was a given you'd be off for holidays and weekends.

We all know the kids..the jocks, princesses, criminals, brains, and outcasts. The problem is, is that as you grow up and get on with your life, the reputation should fade as fast as the graduation cap tassel that hung from your rear view mirror. Safe to say..they don't. The princesses grew into trophy wives. The jocks are still reliving their glory days while they're balding. The brains are the lawyers and doctors and the outcasts and criminals are the only down to earth people you'd actually care to talk to at the school reunions.

Luckily, we have a fabulous way to keep in touch with the "friends" we used to go to high school with. Facebook is a great tool to network and see what your old school mates have been up too. Its also the only site where everyones relationships are perfect, friends are always the best, and everyones kids are scholars.

It amazes me what people will put out there. I haven't seen or spoken to you in 12 years, but you WILL give me play by play updates on how your breastfeeding is going. Or, congratulations on your pregnancy, however, Im not at all interested in the fact that your constipated.

The has been jocks think its a popularity contest. We know you don't really have 856 friends and its sad that you will be on FB Chat well into the night as opposed to actual conversation with a human.
And as for the photos,  I highly doubt you were uncandidly caught on the railroad tracks just as your bra malfunctioned. Pretty astounding that this is how people wish to be remembered. Especially when we will pass each other in the grocery store and not stop to say hello.

Sometimes it makes me wanna write.."you peaked in high school" on some peoples walls.

  1. Nice blog... Love the Brat Pack ;) I think St. Elmo's fire is one of favorites... The closest way that one can experience high school as an adult= Working in a high school as an adult... ;)

  2. I adore the Brat Pack movies. In fact, I left a comment on a thread in the coffee shop (about detention) and suggested someone watch it.
